Once your status is activated in your MOIA profile, you will no longer be able to make bookings for other people. You must always be present and show your documents to our drivers when boarding.
Parent-child pairs (one with free ride status and one with a paid account) need two accounts to use MOIA simultaneously for separate rides. This only works with dual-SIM devices or with a second account with our partner hvv-Switch, which offers our service in its app.
The price reduction is applied during the booking process and will be displayed in the app. If you are eligible to ride for free with an accompanying person, you must book for two people.
You should have stored a payment methos for the following situations:
- Tipping the driver
- Additional passengers you are traveling with
- When you book for MOIA Express there is a small express fee you have to pay
Due to technical restrictions it is not possible to ride with another person free of charge who also has the free ride status deposited in the MOIA account. You need to book an own MOIA individually.
It is possible to take guide dogs and assistance dogs with you.
The expansion of the service and the interlinking of fares are made possible in part by the funding guideline "Model Projects to Strengthen Public Transport" of the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport, for which MOIA was selected together with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg's Authority for Transport and Mobility Change.
