Per direction from the city of Hamburg, from April 27th masks must be worn over the mouth and nose in many public areas. The obligation to wear a mask also applies to public transport within the city. MOIA is accordingly introducing a mask requirement in our vehicles in order to protect customers and staff. Children under 7 years are not obliged to wear masks.
It will be necessary for you to wear a so-called "community mask" - a fabric mask that covers both mouth and nose - in our vehicles. This includes, for example, masks you sewed yourself, surgical masks, or masks you may have purchased at the hardware store. You will not need an FFP2 or FFP3 mask. Compliance with the new "community mask" rule will be checked by the driver before you board your MOIA.
For your safety on board as well as for our employees and staff, we will additionally maintain the protective measures as operating procedures:
Our vehicles are cleaned regularly.
Passenger area and driver's area are separated by protective foil.
Pooling of passengers will initially be limited to a maximum of five individuals.
At our depots, all operational staff and drivers are required to wear masks.
Implementation of employee training courses on infection prevention will take place in advance of regular operations.
Adapted safety protocols at our depots, i.e. introduction of distance lines on the floors of the depots.
In addition, the depots are segregated operationally in line with social distancing rules.
We will of course keep you informed about further developments.
Thank you for your understanding and stay healthy!
