- Out of consideration for people with allergies, animals are not permitted inside the vehicles
- An exception is made only for guide and assistance dogs
- These can be taken in the MOIA, if they are strapped by a self-brought belt. The securing takes place by threading the safety harness into the normal seat belt or by connecting it with the ISOFIX brackets
- If the dog fits in the own seating area or there is a free space in the vehicle, the guide dog can be strapped there and taken for free
- Our aim with this regulation is to enable people who are dependent on an assistance dog and need it as a permanent companion on a daily basis, to take it with them on our MOIA
- Guide and assistance dogs have completed a special training and are recognized as such by certain social welfare agencies. The current regulations are listed in § 26 AHundV (german law)
Please show our drivers an appropriate certificate that your assistance dog fullfills these requirements -
Recognized certificates are:
-
Certification or marking on the dog itself according to § 26 AHundV (see pictures below)
-
Certificate for the dog owner
Marks for the assistance dog
- The driver can ask for a passport for control during boarding to ensure that the dog complies with our regulations
- Dog owners without a certificate can get one at the "Sozialbehörde Hamburg". You can find all information here (website currently only available in german language)
